So I have decided to try and write.
A short story that is.
I have been pondering writing novels since Shawn gave me a begining draft of something he started back a few years ago. Problem is I just can't seem to get a grasp on something. While reading different authors it has come to my attention that most great authors, if not all, started and continue writing short storie. Most authors I have read agree that the best way to start is just that...start but start with something small.
Nothing has begun yet but a few ideas. All I ask from you is a constant nagging.;)
Don't let me quit because I am to lazy, which I generally am.
This may just be a passing phase but I am going to try with all my might not to let it.
Meloncholy has passed... Others are having much more difficult times than me and others are making the best of their situations. Purpose has been found again. Let's hope it sticks.

Did you seriously ASK us to nag you . . OK, nagging you will get
So are you done yet, huh, huh
Where's the first chapter?
Do I get a signed copy?
Will you use my name as one of the characters? ;D
Oh, and I'm just getting started!
If Kimber gets to be in the story then I better be there too!
I can be your proofreader.
What kind of a story? What's the plot? Are you writing a romance novel?
Melancholy? Good writers are always a little depressed.
Can't wait to read it. Mission that will most likely end in nagging is a go.
Cami already has chapter one finished, so I ask again
Where's yours?
Good for you John. Have fun and don't stress it. I don't think those authors finished their beginning works in a week or even a month. I know this will sound like nagging and probably stupid but setting tiny goals will keep you going and motivated. A page a week or something. It doesn't have to be much but the consistency will help you get more done.
I think it's awesome.
Good for you John! I have always liked your writing style and would love to read a book writen by you.
I'm not a good nagger, so I'll leave that up to the other sisters. But I know you can do it, and I love you, and I can't wait for the finished project.
Kate, are you saying we are good naggers???
I have actually started a couple of stories but never finished one. So I took a class on how to effectively write a book. They suggested writing scenes on index cards so you have a basic outline. Then when you sit down to write you take out the first card and write everything you can think about that you want in that scene. Then you take out the next card. It's a great idea and really works - that's one of the projects I need to get back to.
Great job on writing! (and nagging does help despite the silliness above. The silliness helps too though. If you get too serious about it you get writer's block. You could always just pretend that you are posting a story to your sisters and have each one critique in their own special way. I'm sure none of us would mind.)
