Now for some excitement. I got a SWEET looking burn on my neck from hot brass during a live fire exercise. It hurt like the dickens but that just makes the scar that much cooler.
I am down to 195lbs which is good and still dropping.
I am being put up on a meritorious board which is a HUGE deal. Normally the quotas for a board are taken up by the reservists but I have made a good impression on my CO and
Sgt Major so its me. This means that I could get promoted as early as September. Thats important because my score missed the cut off by 4 points this last month.
Meritorious promotions are sexier anyway!
Finally I was aproached by the Squadron Gunny and was asked if I would like to attend jump school. This is a school were you get to basically get to go skydiving. Three times!
I meet the standards as far as physical fitness and a problem free background.
This is also a big deal because normally there are so few spots for jump schools that they are reserved for grunts and other crazy Marine types. However my CO has some pull so he is trying to get some slots open for us when we get back to Denver.
Jump School would be AWESOME!!!
Anyways...I am trying to get some pictures up but my camera is being a big POS.

I am so jealous that you might get to do jump school. I have always wanted to skydive but now I'm a mom and stuff... :D
Congrats on the possible promotion. Of course they like you out there, what's not to like?
Sounds like they are seeing how great you are! Keep it up and soon you can be the one bossing everybody around.

Jump School would be sweet! It's something I've wanted to do - skydiving I mean - but am too chicken to play with my life like that.
